Virginia Beach, Va | Bailey Fett Photography Newborn Studio

Jezaniah contacted me 4 weeks after baby Anderson was born. He was born on Christmas! So exciting, a Christmas baby! She had not planned on getting newborn photos but her mother convinced her to. She was worried that Anderson may be too old at this point. Newborn sessions are recommended to be done before 2 weeks of age (preferably between 5-14 days) while they are still in that sleepy and curly stage. They can also become colicky or baby acne can start to flare. During the first few days of life, babies sleep more and are still flexible to mold into those cute poses parents love. After two weeks of age, they tend to be disturbed more easily while sleeping, they become more aware, and enjoy stretching out making it more difficult to get the true newborn poses and look. This however does not apply to preemies. After 14 days, it is more difficult to get babies into the deep sleep necessary to get some of the more signature poses and this is the time when colic can set in, making for a very fussy baby. Therefore, it is imperative to have your sweet newborn photographed as soon as possible. Does this mean that you are not able to have your newborn photographed after 14 days old? Not at all! As you can see with baby Anderson, we are still able to capture many beautiful and treasured portraits from your session even if your newborn is older.

Jez and Anton requested Tiffany blue and Christmas themed setups. I was so excited! Christmas in January, I'm in! Anderson slept almost his entire session up until the end, as expected with older newborns he did not care to be in his birthday suit. This family ordered some amazing large wall art for their new home and I can't wait to see it displayed. Enjoy a glimpse of baby Anderson's newborn session below with their digital image selections.
